KSU Local 6400's Constitution states our purpose:

• To secure full trade union rights, including the rights to exclusive recognition and collective bargaining, for all employees who are eligible for membership.

• To advance the economic, social, and political well-being of the membership.

• To promote the improvement of standards in the employment situation of the membership.

• To encourage mutual understanding and cooperation among the membership.

• To promote the interests of citizens who are served by the membership.

• To promote the effectiveness and quality of the institutions in which our members work.

• To promote democracy, equality, and trade unionism in the society at large.
